Martin's starting stats

I was at Sunday's north London derby; the 47th played in the Premier League. The draw is now the most common result. There have been 19 of those with Arsenal winning 18 and Tottenham 10.

Kieran Gibbs scored only his second ever Premier League goal in his 116th appearance. The first came against Aston Villa in March 2012. Harry Kane marked his first appearance at the Emirates with a goal and he has three in three North London derbies to date.

Petr Cech remains one Premier League clean sheet shy of David James' all-time record of 169. He did it in 572 games, while Cech has 168 in 345 completed matches.

Mesut Ozil became the first player to assist in six consecutive Premier League games, overtaking the joint record of five held by Antonio Valencia, Thierry Henry, Ryan Giggs, Gianfranco Zola and Darren Anderton. It was Ozil's 10th Premier League assist of the season and he has the most in Europe's' top five leagues.

This was Mauricio Pochettino's 50th Premier League game in charge of Spurs (W24 D13 L13 Pts 85). He still has not lost in three Premier League north London derbies. This was Arsene Wenger's 47th north London derby in all competitions (W22 D18 L7).

Has anyone got a better Premier League goals record in London derbies than Harry Kane? Matthew (Spurs fan)

MARTIN SAYS: London-born Harry Kane's goal against Arsenal was his 10th Premier League goal in 13 matches between London clubs.

Our friends at Opta have looked at players to have played in at least 10 Premier League London derbies and nobody has a better ratio than Kane's 0.77 goals per game.

The Spurs striker is just ahead of my Sky Sports colleague Thierry Henry, who netted 43 times in 59 London derbies between 1999 and 2007 at a rate of 0.73 goals per game.

Next on the list is former Tottenham striker Jurgen Klinsmann, whose 11 goals in 17 contests gave him a scoring rate of 0.65 goals per game in London derbies.

Dimitar Berbatov scored 17 goals in 31 London derbies for both Fulham and Spurs at a rate of 0.55 goals per game, while Ian Wright was on target 28 times in 53 all-London encounters in the Premier League for Arsenal at a scoring rate of 0.53 goals per game.

Most goals in London derbies overall

Image: However, no one has scored more than former Arsenal striker Thierry Henry's haul of 43 Premier League goals in these all-London affairs

Harry Kane still has a long way to go to become the player with the most goals in all-London matches. Henry leads the way with the 43 goals in 59 games we previously mentioned, the most of which came against Charlton Athletic (12).

In joint-second place are former Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard and ex-Spurs striker Teddy Sheringham (he also played for West Ham, but never scored for them in a London derby), with both players having managed 32 goals in all-London Premier League contests. However, Sheringham needed just 70 games to reach that target, while the Blues' all-time record scorer took 139 matches.

There are two former West Ham players next on the list, both level on 28 goals, in Jermain Defoe and Wright, although they actually scored the majority of those goals for Spurs (24) and Arsenal (25) respectively.

And completing the top 10 are ex-Arsenal forward Robin van Persie (25 goals in 54 games), former Chelsea strikers Didier Drogba (23 in 64) and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink (22 in 43), one-time Arsenal and Spurs frontman Emmanuel Adebayor and Berbatov (17 in 31).

A league of nations

Olivier Giroud encourages the Arsenal fans, Arsenal v Tottenham, Premier League

Which nationality has scored the most Premier League goals this season? Adam

MARTIN SAYS: Not surprisingly, England leads the way. So far this campaign, 42 English players have scored 88 goals between them, the most of which have come from the boot of Leicester striker Jamie Vardy, who currently leads the Premier League scoring charts with 12 goals.

After England there have been 33 different nationalities to have scored in the Premier League this season - excluding own goals - with France leading the way with 11 scorers producing 29 goals, including eight from Arsenal's Olivier Giroud (6) and Laurent Koscielny (2).

And the other 10 Frenchman to have hit the target are West Ham's Dimitri Payet (5), Crystal Palace's Yohan Cabaye (4), Swansea's Bafetimbi Gomis (4), Man Utd's Anthony Martial (3), Sunderland's Yann M'Vila (1), Man City's Samir Nasri (1), Leicester's N'Golo Kante (1), Chelsea's Kurt Zouma (1) and Utd's Morgan Schneiderlin (1).

Also featuring high in this list are European champions Spain, whose 10 different goalscorers have claimed 18 goals to date, while Belgium have nine different scorers netting 22 times, seven of which have come from Everton's Romelu Lukaku.

I am not going to go through every different nationality here but will instead highlight some of the more intriguing nations, like Nigeria, whose three goalscorers have been responsible for nine goals, albeit seven of which came from in-form Watford striker Odion Ighalo.

Meanwhile, there has been one Algerian to have found the back of the net in the Premier League this season, Leicester's Riyad Mahrez, although the winger has still managed to score seven goals for the high-flying Foxes.

And there has also been one player from Benin and Venezuela to have scored so far this campaign, but Aston Villa's Rudy Gestede and West Brom's Salomon Rondon have both managed to net three times for their respective clubs.

Interestingly, there has only been one Welsh goal this season - Arsenal's Aaron Ramsey at Watford - and one Northern Irishman - Steven Davis - has scored twice. Six Scottish goalscorers (Steven Fletcher, Russell Martin, Steven Naismith, Matt Ritchie, James Morrison and Steven Whittaker) have provided 15 goals so far and five players from Republic of Ireland (Wes Hoolahan, Robbie Brady, Shane Long, Jonathan Walters and Damien Delaney) have contributed six goals.

Shot-shy Red Devils

Jesse Lingard of Manchester United celebrates scoring their first goal against West Bromwich Albion
Image: Jesse Lingard's opener against West Brom on Saturday was the first time Man Utd had scored from outside the box in the Premier League since December

I read Jesse Lingard's goal against West Brom on Saturday was Man Utd's first goal from outside the box in 18 months. How many goals from outside the box have the other teams scored in that time? Max (Man Utd fan)

MARTIN SAYS: Correct. Lingard's goal was United's first Premier League goal from outside the penalty area since Juan Mata scored against Stoke in December 2014 - which incidentally was actually a cross that drifted in.

In that time, Man City have scored 15 Premier League goals from outside the box - a Premier League high - with Yaya Toure responsible for four of those and Sergio Aguero three. Those two players alone have scored more goals from outside the penalty area than Man Utd since December.

Spurs have scored 11 in that time; Chelsea have scored 10; while Liverpool and Arsenal have both found the net with strikes from outside the penalty area on nine occasions.

And there are a further 12 teams who have scored more goals from outside the penalty box than United since December 2014, including Everton (7), West Ham (7), Newcastle (6), QPR (6), Aston Villa (6), Leicester (6), Stoke (6), Palace (5), Swansea (5), Sunderland (5), Southampton (3) and Burnley (3).

In fact, just Watford - who were only promoted to the Premier League in the summer - and Hull - who were relegated to the Championship in May - have managed fewer than United's (and Bournemouth and West Brom's) totals of two strikes from outside the area in this period.

Shut out at home

Image: Aston Villa kept their first Premier League clean sheet at Villa Park since May against Man City on Sunday

Aston Villa kept their first home clean sheet of the season against Man City on Sunday, but what is the longest run a club has gone on in the Premier League without a clean sheet at home? Mark

MARTIN SAYS: Yes Villa's clean sheet against City on the weekend was indeed their first league shut out at Villa Park since they beat West Ham 1-0 in May.

However, that is only a run of six games without a clean sheet, which is nothing when compared to the all-time Premier League record of 17 matches held jointly by Wolves, West Brom, Blackpool and Sunderland.

Wolves' run came to an end in April 2012, while Blackpool's ceased in April 2011 - but not in time to save either from relegation - while Sunderland's was spread across two seasons, being brought to a halt in November 2005. However, the Black Cats were also relegated in that campaign.

In fact, only the Baggies managed to stay up after ending their 17-game run without a Premier League clean sheet at the Hawthorns in April 2011.
