Martyn Waghorn will miss Rangers' League Cup second round home tie against Peterhead at Ibrox on Tuesday.

The former Wigan striker suffered a hamstring injury in the opening-day draw against Hamilton last weekend and will be joined on the sidelines by midfielder Josh Windass who has a similar problem.

Waghorn will have a scan on his injury on the day of the match and manager Mark Warburton is refusing to speculate on the extent of the injury.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference, the former Brentford boss said: "We will just have to wait and see. It could be nerve related but we don't know.

Joe Dodoo came on in the second half and sealed the win with a debut goal

"He has felt a lot more comfortable over the last couple of days than he did immediately after the match so hopefully it has calmed down now."

Midfielder Matt Crooks remains out following ankle surgery but central defender Danny Wilson is available again after missing the 1-1 draw with Hamilton through suspension.

"We will mix it up, but we will mix it up for the point of using the squad," Warburton added. "It's full respect to Peterhead."
