Luton could be without defender Stephen O'Donnell for their Checkatrade Trophy semi-final against League One Oxford United on Wednesday, live on Sky Sports.

Hatters boss Nathan Jones was forced to make a late change to his starting line-up on Saturday after O'Donnell suffered an ankle injury during the warm-up against Plymouth. Teenage defender James Justin is likely to step in.

Johnny Mullins, who was an unused substitute last time out, and Danny Hylton are set to face their former club at Kenilworth Road.

Both players left Oxford to join Luton in the summer, having been part of the side that lost 3-2 to Barnsley in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy final at Wembley last season.

"They are both big parts of what we are trying to do here," Luton manager Jones told Sky Sports.

"Obviously Danny has taken the eye with the goals that he has scored. I think he's had his best ever season in front of goal and we hope that continues. I'm sure they'll get great receptions."

Dan Potts and Jake Gray are also in contention to feature for Luton, with the winner of the semi-final facing Coventry in the final.

Ready for Oxford and geared for Sky Bet League One, Luton boss Nathan Jones talks to Sky Sports.

Oxford winger Rob Hall is set to miss the trip after sustaining a hamstring injury during the 4-0 win at Chesterfield at the weekend.

The 23-year-old scored the opener in that game before hobbling off due to injury but boss Michael Appleton confirmed that Hall could be available for the visit of Bristol Rovers on Saturday. Midfielder Ben Rothwell could deputise in place of Hall.

On-loan strikers Toni Martinez and Conor McAleny are unavailable as both players are cup-tied, so Kane Hemmings should start.

Wes Thomas and Aaron Martin remain sidelined as they recover from long-term injuries.
