Neymar has labelled Josep Bartomeu a "joke" after the Barcelona president made comments about the conduct of he and his father during the transfer to Paris Saint-Germain.
Bartomeu told Spanish newspaper Deportes that the club "believed for too long in the ambiguity of Neymar and his father" ahead of the Brazil forward's world-record £200m move to France.
Bartomeu criticised the timing of the switch and believed they should have been told of Neymar's intentions much earlier in the window so they could have planned better for his replacement.
A quote from Bartomeu was posted on Instagram and Neymar commented underneath in Spanish: "This president is a joke"
Neymar's transfer to Paris Saint-Germain has prompted a UEFA investigation into their Financial Fair Play (FFP) matters and Bartomeu said both the Ligue 1 club and Manchester City are "distorting" the market.
The 54-year-old says "something must be done" about money coming into these clubs from their Abu Dhabi and Qatari owners, and that a limit must be put on transfer expenditure.
La Liga has called for City to be investigated and the Premier League club have responded by taking legal advice on comments made by the Spanish league's boss Javier Tebas.
