Matej Vydra, Derby - 20 goals

Vydra's goal at Cardiff in midweek put him in pole position to win the Golden Boot this season, as he took his tally to 20 for the campaign.

A tough trip to Aston Villa at the weekend could give his rivals the chance to catch up with him, but a home fixture at Barnsley on the final day would give him in the opportunity to fill his boots.

"I have never won a Golden Boot or anything like that before in my career," said Vydra. "But I have said before that it isn't about my statistics, goals and assists, it is about the team winning. If I can score goals and the team wins matches, especially these important ones, it would be amazing for me."

Lewis Grabban, Aston Villa - 19 goals

Grabban will go up against Vydra at Villa Park on Saturday in the hopes of boosting his total. The striker has notched his total for two teams while on loan from Bournemouth, having spent the first half of the season on loan at Sunderland.

He managed an impressive 12 in 19 games for the struggling Black Cats, and has since gone on to net seven in 13 for Villa. They face a tough trip to Millwall on the final day of the season.

"It's been a good season for me on a personal level, scoring goals for Sunderland and I've really enjoyed my time at Aston Villa since joining in January," said Grabban. "But if I'm being honest, I'm not a player that's motivated by personal awards or anything like that. My focus is all on Villa and trying to get this club back to the Premier League."

Bobby Reid, Bristol City - 19 goals

Reid's switch to a more attacking role this season has paid dividends for himself and Bristol City as he's managed 19 goals in 43 appearances.

His form has slightly dwindled in the latter part of the season, but he still has the chance to end the campaign with some personal silverware if he can notch a few goals at Nottingham Forest then against Sheffield United at home on the final day.

"It would be a massive achievement for me, my family and the club," said Reid. "It's something I've never thought of before, winning a golden boot. A lot of hard work has gone in and I'm just enjoying the process."

Leon Clarke, Sheffield United - 18 goals

Clarke's previous best second-tier total was eight for Sheffield Wednesday almost 10 years ago, making his 18-goal haul already a remarkable total for the veteran striker.

His tally was boosted by an incredible November which saw him score nine times in four games, including all four in a victory over Hull and a hat-trick in a 5-4 defeat against Fulham. The Blades host Preston and then head to Bristol City in their final two games.

Diogo Jota, Wolves - 17 goals

Jota would need to go goal crazy in his final two games to put himself in contention for the award, but if Wolves continue to play as they did against Bolton last week then who knows what will happen?

They host Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday, where they'll lift the title, before continuing their promotion party at relegated Sunderland on the final day of the season.
