Arsenal have signed Lionesses midfielder Georgia Stanway following her exit from Bayern Munich.

The 27-year-old's contract at Bayern expired at the end of last season after spending four years at the German club.

Stanway previously spent seven years at Manchester City in the Women's Super League, where she made 186 appearances for the club and scored 67 goals.

She returns to the English top flight and will look to add to her trophy tally, having helped City win one WSL title, three FA Cups and three League Cups.

After departing to join Bayern, she continued to thrive in Germany and won the Bundesliga title in each of her four seasons in Munich.

She also helped the club lift two German Cups and two German Super Cups, making 128 appearances in total and scoring 32 goals.

Slegers: Stanway adds a new dimension to Arsenal's midfield

Arsenal boss Renee Slegers says Stanway will offer a "new dimension" to Arsenal's midfield.

"Georgia is a brilliant midfielder and we're thrilled that she is an Arsenal player," Slegers said.
