Hartlepool have signed former Gateshead goalkeeper Adam Bartlett.

Bartlett has been training with Pools after leaving The Heed this summer and has impressed boss Ronnie Moore enough to earn a permanent deal with the Sky Bet League 2 club.

The 29-year-old, who came through the ranks at Newcastle before joining Blyth Spartans, made 138 appearances during a three-year stint with Gateshead. He has also had spells with Kidderminster and Hereford.

Bartlett will now compete with fellow summer signing Trevor Carson for the number one jersey at Victoria Park.
