Sterling trains with Liverpool squad with future unclear

Raheem Sterling trained with the Liverpool squad as usual as speculation over his future continues to mount.

Sky sources understand Sterling will tell Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers on Friday that he will not sign a new contract at the club.

Sterling was booed by some Liverpool fans as he accepted the Young Player of the Year award at Tuesday night’s end of season awards ceremony.

Around 3,000 supporters were in attendance at the Echo Arena and while some urged him to stay with the club, there were also boos and jeers when his name was mentioned in a video montage.

Sterling, who is under contract at Anfield until 2017, has scored seven Premier League goals this season but has been linked with a move to Manchester City, Arsenal and Chelsea.
