Cristian Colman failed to take advantage of an empty net situation for FC Dallas, missing the ball and kicking the post

FC Dallas forward Cristian Colman missed a golden chance to score into an open net on Friday, kicking the post rather than the ball.

The Texas-based side were in Major League Soccer action against the San Jose Earthquakes when the incident occurred, with the sides in a goalless deadlock.

Colman raced through on goal in the 26th minute, rounding the defender and the goalkeeper with the open goal at his mercy.

Just as he reached the back post, he took a swipe at trying to poke it home but ended up catching the bottom of the woodwork rather than the ball, which wriggled past the wrong side of the post for the forward.

The game eventually ended all square with Kellyn Acosta putting the away side ahead in the 78th minute before Jahmir Hyka scored in the fourth minute of injury time for the Earthquakes to see the game end in a 1-1 draw.
