MLS round-up: LA Galaxy lose again

LA Galaxy

LA Galaxy's rotten run of form shows no sign of abating as they suffered another MLS defeat which leaves boss Sigi Schmid still waiting for a first win in charge.

Galaxy lost 3-0 to San Jose Earthquakes, their fourth on the spin and their ninth in the last 10 games, going back to the end of June.

Five of those have been with Schmid in charge following his return to the club for a second spell, having first managed them between 1999 and 2004.

Goals from Valeri Qazaishvili, Marco Urena and Chris Wondolowski earned a return to winning ways for the Quakes while Nathan Smith was dismissed for Galaxy.

There was nothing to separate the top two in the Western Conference as Seattle Sounders and Portland Timbers drew 1-1.
