Zlatan Ibrahimovic had the media in stitches after his debut double helped LA Galaxy complete a 4-3 comeback against LA FC.
Galaxy, who had been 3-0 down with over an hour gone at the StubHub Center, brought Ibrahimovic on with just 19 minutes remaining with the score at 3-1.
After his side fought back to 3-2, Ibrahimovic, who signed for the MLS side earlier in March, scored a stunning 40-yard half volley to equalise, catching Tyler Miller just off his line with an audacious effort.
He then grabbed a dramatic winner in the 91st-minute with a header, before being mobbed by his new team-mates.
"You want to have control over the game, and we hope that every game is not like that because it's not easy," said Ibrahimovic.
"I can imagine LA FC winning 3-0, losing 4-3 is not easy. But if they would have Zlatan it would have been the opposite.
"The fans were demanding something and I gave them Zlatan. Every movie has a good ending, remember that, and a good start."
