The New York Red Bulls have denied recent reports that Thierry Henry is close to becoming their next manager.

In a statement the Red Bulls' Sporting Director Denis Hamlett said: "Recent reports of Thierry Henry joining the New York Red Bulls are false."

Henry spent four years with New York Red Bulls between 2010 and 2014, scoring 52 goals in 135 appearances.

The former Arsenal striker's first venture into senior management lasted just three months after he was sacked by Monaco in January.
