San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Pierre Garcon will become a free agent after the team declined his option for 2019, NFL Network reported on Thursday.

Garcon spent two seasons in San Francisco but played only 16 total games due to injuries and ended up on injured reserve each season. He turns 33 in August.

The 49ers will absorb a salary cap hit of more than $7m by cutting him.

Garcon, who entered the NFL out of Mount Union with the Colts, spent four seasons in Indianapolis.

He then joined the Washington Redskins in 2012, where he spent five seasons. His best season came in 2013 when he had 113 catches for 1,346 yards and five touchdowns.
