Former Newcastle and Portsmouth striker joins Karabukspor

Lomana LuaLua has rejected the offer of a new deal with Blackpool and will join Turkish side Karabukspor on a two-year contract. The former Newcastle and Portsmouth striker moved to Bloomfield Road in October last year as a free agent following his summer exit from Cypriot side Omonia. He scored six times for Ian Holloway's men as they reached the Championship play-off final before suffering Wembley heartache at the hands of West Ham. LuaLua had been in discussions over an extension to his stay with Blackpool in recent weeks, but has now opted to move on again in search of a new challenge. A statement on the club's official website read: "Lomana LuaLua will play his football in Turkey next season after turning down the chance to stay with Blackpool. "The 31-year-old has agreed a two-year deal with Karabukspor and leaves Bloomfield Road having scored six goals for the club in 20 starts and 12 sub appearances."
