Dagenham and Redbridge have signed striker Oliver Hawkins from Hemel Hempstead Town for an undisclosed fee.

The 23-year old has put pen to paper on a two-and-a-half-year contract and is in contention for Saturday's home game against Northampton.

"Ollie is a player we have watched for some time," Daggers boss John Still told the club's official website.

"Everyone who saw him was impressed. I decided I would try and sign him in this transfer window and the fact that I changed clubs is Dagenham and Redbridge's gain.

"He is a proper centre-forward and fits my belief of signing young, hungry, ambitious players."
