The referee used VAR in the Coppa Italia match between Juventus and Torino which ended in controversy

Juventus edged rivals Torino 2-0 in the Coppa Italia quarter-finals, but only after a controversial decision was made using the video assistant referee.

Mario Mandzukic scored Juve's second in the 67th minute, though Sami Khedira appeared to foul Afriyie Acquah in the build-up to the goal.

Torino's players encouraged the referee to consult the VAR, but after taking his time to study the footage, he allowed the goal to stand.

Head coach Sinisa Mihajlovic was furious with the decision, and was sent to the stands as a result.
