Chief executive says re-signing striker is very unlikely
Fiorentina's CEO Sandro Mencucci has admitted it would be difficult for the club to re-sign Luca Toni in the January transfer window.
Toni left the Tuscany club in 2007 for Bayern Munich and, after two-and-a-half years in Germany he was loaned to Roma were he scored once in nine appearances.
He signed a short-term deal with Genoa before joining Italian giants Juventus in January 2011 on a free transfer.
However the 34-year-old is yet to feature for the Turin club this season in any competition.
He had been linked with a return to Fiorentina however Mencucci said: "From a sporting point of view I think it's impossible, because our strategy is to take younger players.
"We are heavily linked to the player as he had a fantastic time here.
"But we need to cancel some debt and it will also depend on our table position and ambitions in January."
