Teenage forward poised for Serie A switch
Striker Nicolao Dumitru has announced he will leave Italian second division club Empoli for Serie A outfit Napoli.
The 18-year-old is set to fill the gap left at the San Paolo by fellow striker Fabio Quagliarella, who departed for Juventus on a season-long loan deal with the option to buy last week.
The two clubs are yet to confirm Dumitru's transfer, but the young forward announced the deal via social networking website
Facebook on Tuesday.
"Finally, it's done," said Dumitru. "It's the chance of a lifetime. Thanks to Napoli."
Dumitru, who came through the youth ranks at Empoli, was born in Sweden to a Brazilian mother and Romanian father, but has represented Italy at Under-19 level.
