Agent denies meeting City over striker deal

Edinson Cavani has played down talk linking him with a move to Manchester City insisting he is happy to stay at Napoli. Reports emanating from England have suggested big-spending City are lining up a move for Cavani after his two-goal show against Roberto Mancini's men in Napoli's midweek UEFA Champions League victory. A host of Europe's top clubs are thought to be waiting in the wings to sign Cavani, with Chelsea, Real Madrid, AC Milan and Paris St Germain all thought to be keen on the Uruguayan international. However, Cavani has pledged his future to Napoli insisting he is content with life in Naples. "I belong to Napoli and I'm happy here," Cavani told Il Mattino.

Denial

Meanwhile, Cavani's agent, Claudio Anelluci, has rejected speculation that he has held talks with City over a possible move for the 24-year-old. A report in England pictured Anelluci meeting City's chief Italian scout, Barry Hunter, but Anelluci claims he was not meeting Hunter to discuss a deal for Cavani. "The British newspaper arrived on the news a year-and-a-half late," Anelluci told calcionapoli24.it "I confirm the meeting with (Barry) Hunter at Rome, but we were not there to talk about Cavani. "I proposed to City's technical staff a young Argentinean."
