Genoa have bolstered their squad with the signing of Slovakia midfielder Juraj Kucka from Sparta Prague.

Genoa have bolstered their squad with the signing of Slovakia midfielder Juraj Kucka from Sparta Prague. The 23-year-old, who was part of his country's World Cup squad last summer, has agreed a deal keeping him at the club until 2015. He is reported to have joined for a fee in the region of 3.6million euros (£3m) after Genoa saw off competition for his signature. Genoa brought in a host of new faces before the start of the season and were expected to mount a strong challenge for European qualification. But they have struggled for consistency and currently occupy a mid-table berth at the halfway point of the campaign.
