Highlights of Burnley against Charlton in the EFL Championship.

Ivan Mesik scored a dramatic last-gasp leveller for Charlton Athletic to clinch a 2-2 draw at Burnley.

It looked like the Clarets were going to end their 360-day wait for a home league victory as Largie Ramazani's 57th-minute goal put them into a 2-1 lead at Turf Moor.

However, substitute Mesik denied back-to-back Sky Bet Championship victories for the hosts as he struck with virtually the last kick of an absorbing contest.

Kayne Ramsay had cancelled out Jacob Bruun Larsen's first-half opener before Ramazani's quality strike - his second of the season - had the home side sensing victory.

Burnley's confidence should have been buoyed by their emphatic 4-0 win at Watford on Saturday, but they still made mistakes in possession during the opening 45 minutes which went unpunished.

Clarets centre-back Igor Julio was in the right place to cut out Miles Leaburn's cross in the 20th minute after Amari'i Bell's long throw dropped dangerously inside the penalty area.

Home keeper Gregoire Coudert was quickly closed down by Leaburn just before the half-hour mark with the ball fortunately rebounding out for a goal-kick.

Burnley took the lead in the 36th minute through Bruun Larsen. A swift counter saw Josh Laurent find the Dane on the left of the penalty area and he fired a low shot between the legs of Arthur Okonkwo.

But the Clarets continued to offer encouragement to the visitors with slack play and Julio had to make another important block to shut down a Karlan Grant chance after Anel Ahmedhozic's misplaced pass across the penalty area.

Burnley captain Kyle Walker then hooked Billy Koumetio's goalbound attempt off his goal-line in the 39th minute from Danny McNamara's corner.

Jamie Vardy, handed his first start since signing for the Clarets at the start of September, miskicked from Ramazani's low cross in first-half stoppage time with the loose ball curled wide by Reo Hatate.

Charlton started the second half strongly with Leaburn heading over Tyreece Campbell's cross from close range.

Moments later and the south-east Londoners were level as Ramsay hooked the ball in after McNamara's corner was not cleared.

Parity did not last long, Ramazani found the bottom-left corner of the net from the edge of the box in the 57th minute.

The Addicks struggled to muster any kind of immediate response as Burnley applied more pressure to try and kill the contest off.

Hatete fired wide from the edge of the area, while Ramazani's acrobatic volley flew over.

Walker needed to be alert again in the 76th minute to head Campbell's inviting cross over his own crossbar.

But, Mesik chose the perfect time to collect his first goal for Charlton as he kept his nerve from Harvey Knibbs' pass to strike across Coudert in the sixth minute of additional time.

The managers

Burnley's Nicky Hayen:

"For 95 minutes and 40 seconds we were winning our duels and blocking shots, but the game lasted 96 minutes.

"We already had an example of this against Derby. We have lost four points in 10 seconds. That is frustrating because in a brutal league like this, four points are really important.

"I'm not going to fingerpoint anyone today.

"We have to analyse all the goals we have conceded in stoppage time and how we can manage that better.

"There were also a lot of positives today. At the moment we are also in a situation where we don't have the luck.

"It would have been a really important win, especially as we have Wolves on Friday. It still can be a positive week if we can win that game.

"I'm feeling sad also because the players deserved the win. It was not the same performance as Watford, we were not cool enough.

"At the start of each half the players were in overdrive, but it is because they were trying to do it too well. When we played on our quality, we created chances and scored two good goals."

Charlton's Nathan Jones:

"We were excellent. In the first half we had less control, but had really clear-cut chances to have taken the lead.

"At half-time we reiterated the game plan. The only disappointing thing after controlling the early stages and scoring was that from a counter-attack we allowed them to go through us.

"We've had four big chances. We outpassed them and outworked hard. I'm really proud of the performance. We should have scored more and we definitely shouldn't have conceded the goals we did.

"I was getting dog's abuse from one individual behind (the technical area), so I just wanted to let them know it is never over (after Mesik's goal).

"We just didn't have the quality, that they probably have, to take our chances. If we did then we'd have probably won that minimum 4-2."
