Stevenage 1-0 Wigan

Stevenage battled their way to a narrow 1-0 win over Wigan in a scrappy SkyBet League One affair.
The only goal came just before the hour. Josh Magennis began the move inside the Wigan half with a clever spin and turn before running forward, bursting into the box and dinking a lofted cross from the right-hand side.
It found pacy winger Wanya Marcal coming in at the back post, who met it with a header that went back across goal and in off the far post.
Stevenage should have added to their tally with several chances on the counter but failed to take any of them, and it meant a nervy finish, with the usual solid defensive solidity missing at times.

The struggling Latics could not really test home goalkeeper Tommy Setford, however, despite some promising positions and possession.
Their best chance of a quality-lacking game came in the first half, but Connor Barrett pulled it across goal and wide from the edge of the area.
