Alan Dzagoev has ruled himself out of Russia' two remaining World Cup group games after injuring his hamstring against Saudi Arabia.
The CSKA Moscow midfielder pulled up sharply during the first half of the opening match of the tournament on Thursday.
Dzagoev went down off the ball after feeling his hamstring go, and was swiftly treated by medical staff and replaced by Denis Cheryshev.
The 28-year-old will now play no further part in the remaining group games, where Russia will go up against Egypt and Uruguay.
Dzagoev's replacement Cheryshev went on to have huge impact on the tie, scoring twice as Russia went on to record a convincing 5-0 victory.
Russia face Egypt on Tuesday, June 19 at Saint Petersburg Stadium.
