Dutch striker could face Raith in Tuesday's cup tie
Hamilton Academical have snapped up Nigel Hasselbaink after the teenage striker impressed on trial.
Hasselbaink is the nephew of former Chelsea and Leeds forward Jimmy Floyd and arrives at Hamilton from PSV Eindhoven.
He has been training with Accies for the past fortnight after previously taking in a trial stint with SPL rivals Dundee United.
The 19-year-old had a spell on loan with Go Ahead Eagles last season and has scored several goals during trial matches for Accies.
Manager Billy Reid told the club's
official website: "Nigel gives us more options up front, he is pacey and has a good shot. I've liked what I've seen in him."
Hamilton hope to have international clearance through for Hasselbaink to appear in Tuesday's Co-operative Insurance Cup second-round clash against Raith.
If clearance does not arrive in time, Accies are confident of at least having him available for Saturday's SPL trip to promoted Inverness.
