Uruguayan winger commits future until 2016

Gaston Ramirez has expressed his delight after signing a contract extension to keep him at Bologna until 2016. The Uruguayan winger only joined Bologna last year but made such an impact in his first season with the club that he was linked with a high-profile summer move. Manchester City and Fiorentina were among those reportedly keeping tabs on Ramirez and he made it clear he wanted to leave, saying he felt as though Bologna were treating him like a 'prisoner'. However, a move did not materialise and he has now decided to commit his long-term future to Bologna by agreeing a new deal. "I'm really happy," the 20-year-old told the club's official website. "This renewal is really important for me, and I thank the club because they showed their interest for me is real. "I've signed with a big pleasure because I feel good here and thanks to this team I grew a lot."
