Monaco, Marseille, Nancy and Nice all enjoyed success on Sunday

Marseille stretched their lead at the top on Sunday, while Nancy maintained their recent winning run. Le Havre appear to be doomed after suffering another setback and Sochaux and Valenciennes shared the spoils in a tense basement battle. Marseille are now five points clear of the chasing pack in France after grinding out a 2-1 win away at Lille. They fell behind four minutes into the second half when Eden Hazard rounded off a flowing counter-attack. It took just five minutes for parity to be restored, though, as Benoit Cheyrou levelled things up. On 57 minutes Mamadou Niang then put Marseille in front to complete a quick-fire comeback from the league leaders. Auxerre have now taken back-to-back victories after they saw off struggling Caen 2-0. Gregory Proment had the visitors in front just after the hour-mark, and that looked like being enough to seal the points. However, a late brace from Ireneusz Jelen (85 & 88) turned the game on its head and saw the hosts prevail. Nancy claimed a third consecutive success as they proved too strong for lowly Nantes. Julien Feret (55) put Pablo Correa's side in front, before Andre Luiz rounded things off from the penalty spot on 67 minutes. Monaco have left it too late to mount a European push, but they were victorious again this weekend as they secured a 1-0 win on the road at Le Mans. Chu-Young Park's 86th minute effort proved to be difference between the two sides in a keenly-fought contest. Le Havre look destined to slip out of Ligue 1 after they lost 1-0 at home to Grenoble. Pierre Boya's solitary strike four minutes before the interval leaves rock-bottom Le Havre 12 points adrift of safety with five games remaining. Nice put in Sunday's most impressive performance as they eased to a 3-1 victory over St Etienne. Chouki Ben Saada had them in front after 23 minutes and an own goal from the unfortunate Efstathios Tavlaridis on the stroke of half-time put the result beyond doubt. Eric Mouloungui added a third after 73 minutes, ensuring Illan Dell'igna's last-minute effort was no more than a consolation. Sochaux needed an injury-time equaliser from Vaclav Sverkos to salvage a 1-1 draw from a home contest with Valenciennes. The visitors had taken the lead on 62 minutes through Amara Bangoroa. Toulouse and Lorient also played out a 1-1 draw at Stadium Municipal. Andre Ayew looked to have stolen the points for the visitors when he notched after 84 minutes, but Mauro Cetto levelled matters four minutes later.
