JAMIE REDKNAPP'S VIEW

"If you had said to me they would be playing the football they have this year, I would not have believed it. It has been a fantastic performance.

"Young players are coming through like Ross Barkley and John Stones, then they have experience with the likes of Leighton Baines. The injury to Phil Jagielka may have cost them fourth but they never complained, instead Roberto Martinez brought in Stones and he is going to be a star, just like Barkley. All in all, it has been a very positive season for Everton. They need to keep Martinez – teams like Tottenham will be looking at him, because he has done a great job."

Barkley’s performances this season have earned him a spot in England’s 23-man squad for the World Cup this summer. The midfielder has an average of 2.4 successful dribbles per game – placing him in the Premier League’s top 10 dribblers, while a successful pass rate of 85 percent ranks him higher than Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsey and England colleague Adam Lallana.
