Glasgow Warriors have rewarded front row duo Alex Allan and Sila Puafisi with new contracts.

Loosehead Allan has agreed a new two-year deal, while tighthead Puafisi has committed to staying for another season.

Allan, who joined the Warriors from Edinburgh Rugby in 2014 and has gone on to make 26 appearances, said: "I'm really enjoying my rugby in Glasgow with the way we play.

"There's a great set-up at the club and the atmosphere in the squad is good as well. Being named in the Scotland squad for the Six Nations was a huge honour and I want to build on that selection and try and get more caps."

Earlier this month the Warriors signed 24-year-old tight-head Jarrod Firth on a two-and-a-half-year deal from New Zealand side Counties Manukau.

Tongan international Puafisi will be staying at Scotstoun until at least May 2017 having arrived last summer from Gloucester.

Puafisi, 27, said: "I've settled well in Glasgow and was delighted to sign for another year at the Warriors.

"I've made some really good friends at the club and all the players look after me and keep me right. The set-up at the club is great and the standard of play is really high."

Head coach Gregor Townsend added: "It's great news that both Alex and Sila will be staying with us next season.

"Alex has had international recognition and is currently training with the Scotland squad and we believe he will continue to develop in our environment.

"Sila integrated so quickly after the Rugby World Cup it was if he'd been a Warrior for the past 10 years."
