Sky Bet League 1 leaders Burton have extended Mark Duffy's loan from Birmingham until the end of the season.
Duffy has been a key player for the Brewers as they have taken League 1 by storm in what is their first-ever campaign in the third tier.
The 30-year-old midfielder moved to the Pirelli Stadium in the summer, signed by then-manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, and new boss Nigel Clough is also a fan of the player.
"It's always good when we are desperate for him to stay and he wants to stay," Clough told the club's official website.
"We are grateful to Gary Rowett and Birmingham for letting him do that. They are on a good run at the moment, so I think this is the best place for him as he wants to carry on playing and he's in good form."
Duffy has scored four goals during his time at Burton, including a last-minute equaliser in the recent 3-3 draw with Doncaster before getting the winner against Blackpool at the weekend.
His extended deal makes him available for Burton should Clough's team be involved in the League 1 play-offs.
