Burton 2-2 Mansfield
Saturday 19 September 2026 15:03, UK
Mansfield came from two goals down to grab a point from a 2-2 draw with Burton.
Burton were two goals to the good through Deji Oshilaja's own goal and Jack Armer's second of the season, but the Stags responded with Michael Smith's goal before half-time and Lucas Akins netting against his former club.
Albion, after some early pressure, got the breakthrough just after the quarter-hour mark when some patient play got Charlie Webster in on the left-hand side of the box and his probing ball deflected past Liam Roberts off former Albion defender Oshilaja.
Burton continued to look the more threatening and they doubled their lead in the 28th minute, former Stags loanee Caylan Vickers sending a looping cross to the back post for Armer to head the ball through Roberts' legs from close range.
Mansfield needed a lifeline and it came five minutes before the break when Smith held off two defenders to steer Nathan Moriah-Welsh's cross in off a post.
Albion missed a superb chance to restore their two-goal lead on the stroke of half-time, Kyran Lofthouse smashing a rising drive against the crossbar.
David McGoldrick went through on goal midway through the second half only to be denied by a superb save from Corey Addai, but the visitors had their equaliser moments later when Akins turned smartly in the box to lash home the equaliser.
