Manchester City's Jack Harrison, on loan at Middlesbrough, has withdrawn from the England U21 squad through injury.

The 21-year-old missed Saturday's match with a minor abdominal strain as Demary Gray and Jake Clarke-Salter scored in a 2-1 win over Romania at Molineux.

Harrison only joined City in January - immediately joining Tony Pulis' Middlesbrough on loan until the end of the season - after scoring 14 goals in 59 appearances for Major League Soccer side New York City FC.

Born in Stoke-on-Trent and moving to the United States at the age of 14, Harrison was the No 1 pick in the 2016 MLS SuperDraft before moving back to England.
