Senegal international leaves Freiburg after one season

Bundesliga outfit Freiburg have confirmed that Senegal international Jackson Mendy has left the club to sign a two-year contract with Grenoble Foot. The former Middlesbrough trialist is now tied to the French second-tier side until June 2012 after the deal was completed for an undisclosed fee. Freiburg general manager Dirk Dufner hopes that the French-born defender will now enjoy a good career in France. Dufner told Badische Zeitung newspaper: "Jackson Mendy has joined Grenoble Foot, we have agreed a deal with the club. "We wish the player all the best for the future and thank him for his efforts at our club." Mendy joined Freiburg from the reserves of Hansa Rostock ahead of the 2009/2010 season. The 23-year-old then went on trial with Middlesbrough this summer before he worked on a move to Grenoble Foot.
