North Korea striker Jong Tae-se has been rewarded for his fine World Cup campaign with a move to Bochum.
The 26-year-old impressed for his country in South Africa, despite failing to score in their three group stage defeats.
He reportedly attracted attention from across Europe and admitted he would be interested in playing in the Premier League.
However, Bochum have won the chase for Jong, recruiting him on a contract until 2012 with the option of a further year.
Jong, who previously played for Japanese outfit Kawasaki Frontale, is determined to help Bochum win promotion back to the Bundesliga following their relegation last term.
"I wished with all my heart to be able to go to Europe," said Jong.
"Bochum tried very hard to get me. That impressed me a lot. I am looking forward to my time in Bochum and hope that I can help Bochum get back into the Bundesliga."
