Serbian replaces Vigo for the rest of the season
Hercules have appointed Miroslav Djukic as the club's new coach to replace the sacked Esteban Vigo.
The Primera Liga's bottom club dismissed Vigo at the weekend following the 4-0 home defeat by Osasuna, which was a fourth successive loss.
Djukic, who coached Serbia for eight months before being sacked in 2008, has agreed an initial deal until the end of the season.
He faces a tough task in keeping the Alicante-based side in the top flight, however, despite Hercules boasting the likes of David Trezeguet and Nelson Valdez in their squad.
Hercules have won just one of their last 11 games and are four points adrift of Real Zaragoza, who occupy the final spot above the relegation zone.
