Manager reassured over future despite poor results

Augsburg chairman Walter Seinsch has insisted the club are not about to part company with manager Jos Luhukay. Luhukay took charge of Augsburg in 2009 and steered them to promotion last season, but they have found life in the top flight difficult. They have claimed just one Bundesliga victory this term and are currently three points adrift at the bottom of the table. Luhukay's position has therefore come under scrutiny, but Seinsch has no plans to make a change. "Jos Luhukay is by far the best manager FC Augsburg ever had," Seinsch told kicker-Sportmagazin.

Frustrated

"We are not discussing his job. We are to sign new players come the winter transfer window. We have money left in our pocket." Luhukay admits it has been a difficult period for him and the club, after an agonising 2-1 defeat at Stuttgart last Sunday. He said: "I am a frustrated and disappointed manager. In the match against Stuttgart we again had many efforts and tried to do many things right. "But when you are not producing the goals and the results, too, you are aware that something is wrong. And then you are ending up where we are right now."
