HRISTOV PONDERS OFFERS

BARNSLEY`S record signing Georgi Hristov has admitted that he is considering offers from around Europe this summer.

The Macedonian international`s contract expires in the summer and he is rumoured to be courted by Lens and a couple of sides in Greece.

The 23-year-old signed for The Tykes for £1.5 million from Partisan Belgrade at the start of their solitary season in the Premiership, but was curtailed after a promising start due to a cruciate ligament injury.

Though Hristov hasn`t been a regular since Bassett took over as manager at Oakwell, he boasts an impressive record of a goal every other start and has not yet ruled out staying with the South Yorkshire outfit.

"My contract finishes at the end of this season and I am available on a free transfer," Hristov said.

" I have a few offers from clubs in Europe, but Barnsley have the advantage in negotiations because I am still a Barnsley player. Everything is still open though.

"All I am thinking about at the moment is the next game and to get back to my best. I don`t want to rush but I want to choose the best opportunity for me.

"I have been here nearly three years, I speak better English now and I have lots of friends here. So everything is open, but I would be happy to stay.
