KENNEDY TO BE RELEASED BY TOWN
The 21-year-old has developed through the youth team at the club and made nine appearances last season, but has been unable to find a spot in George Burley`s side during this campaign.
Burley (pictured) has revealed that, when the Kennedy`s contract runs out in the summer, he will not be offered a new one to keep him at the club, a move which has disappointed the player.
"The situation is disappointing," he said. "But that`s football. I`m getting some letters off to other clubs. Hopefully I can find the right one."
Kennedy has already spent time on loan at his hometown club Cambridge United this season and they are believed to be one of the clubs interested in his signature.
"John needs first team football," said Burley, who ironically brought him back into the first team squad last weekend. "At the moment he cannot get in the first team squad here. He`s a good professional and I am sure he will get senior football somewhere."
