FIORENTINA EYE ITALIAN STAR
FIORENTINA have earmarked Aston Villa’s Italian striker Benito Carbone as a possible replacement for Rui Costa, if the Portuguese star gets his wish to leave The Viola.
Perugia and Napoli are also both tracking the former Sheffield Wednesday star, who is out-of contract this summer and available on a free-transfer.
Fiorentina believe they have the edge over signing Carbone, 29, as they are prepared to offer the player a cash advance to secure his services.
Aston Villa however are still hopeful they will be able to persuade Carbone to stay in England, and sign a new deal at Villa Park.
