POLLOCK SIGNS FOR PALACE

CRYSTAL PALACE have completed the signing of Manchester City midfielder Jamie Pollock for £750,000, after he travelled to South London to discuss personal terms with Eagles manager Alan Smith.

The 26-year-old decided on the move to Selhurst Park after City made the signing of Alf Inge Haaland and the emergence of Shaun Wright-Phillips, which possibly would have reduced his chances of first-team football.

Pollock will go into the squad for Palace's Division One season-opening match at Blackburn Rovers on Saturday.

Pollock becomes the third signing made by the new Palace boss this week.
