KLUIVERT 'I WILL BE THE BLACKEST BEAST OF MILAN'
Kluivert's miserable year at the San Siro saw him score just six times in 27 appearances, and generally fail to make the impact expected of the Dutch international.
Mercurial Kluivert, who at his best is one of the most lethal strikers in the world, is determined to prove that it was a lack of opportunity - and not a lack of ability - that stopped his success in Italy.
"I want to demonstrate once again to them that they were wrong to allow a player as young and talented to leave the club. It is a thorn in my side that I did not succeed at Milan.
"I did not feel comfortable there, I think that the shadow of Marco Van Basten, Frank Rijkaard and Ruud Gullit was still over the club.
"For this reason, I believe that they expected success too quickly, and did not give me the chance I deserved.
"But now I want to be the blackest beast in Milan, I demonstrated back in 1995, when myself and Ajax beat them to the European Cup, that I was the black beast of Milan, and now I want to be the blackest."
