CANIGGIA WANTS TO END CAREER AT DUNDEE
The Argentina ace is so happy with life in Scotland that he is ready to finish his days in the SPL.
Caniggia scored one of the goals in Dundee's 2-0 win over Dundee United in the derby to take his tally to three in four games and now he reckons that putting down roots and sticking with the Dark Blues could help his chances of getting back in the international picture.
"I would like to stay here until the end of my career," said the former Roma, Benfica and Boca Juniors striker, now 33. "If they gave me a five year contract I would sign it.
"I am thinking of playing not just for a year or two, but more, because I have the same will to win as I had when I was 22. It is likely I will sign a new deal soon.
"Physically I fell better since I have come to Dundee and I know there is room for improvement. I believe I can still pay at international level and hopefully I can convince Argentina."
The Dundee fans would certainly be delighted if Caniggia opted to stay at Dens Park. The man who played in the 1990 World Cup Final originally came to Dundee on a short-term deal until the end of the season after being released by Italian Serie A side Atlanta in the summer.
He has been a hit on the pitch and off it, his presence has sparked massive interest in Dundee - the derby with United was even screened live in Argentina.
