LEMERRE LAUDS MICOUD AND ZIDANE
"We were a little wary of this match, because this Turkey side have had some good results - especially at home," Lemerre said.
"Perhaps they had too much respect for France at the start of the match. I didn't think Turkey played to their full potential, but we played a brilliant game especially in the first half.
"I want to underline the importance of two players, Zidane and Micoud, they both have tremendous technical ability."
His Turkish counterpart Senol Gunes admitted that his side was outclassed.
"We played against the World and European champions and they proved above all in the first half, that they were a class above technically and physically. I really was impressed.
"It was a bad result, but a good test. Micoud also gave his thoughts on the match and expressed his delight at being given the opportunity to play with Zidane - the man he usually deputises for.
"We had a lot of fun on the pitch. We are happy to have won again after three consecutive draws. Zinedine and myself found each other very well. I've known for a long time that we can play together. There are lots of qualities in this team, but above all mental strength."
Fabien Barthez also praised his team-mates saying: "From my goal, it was very pleasant to watch. There was lots of movement and one touch football - I had a lot of fun."
The only disappointment for France was Patrick Vieira going off after 31 minutes with an ankle sprain, to be replaced by Claude Makele, but his injury is not thought to be serious.
