WREH HEADS FOR SAUDI

ARSENAL striker Christopher Wreh has joined Al-Hilal Al Saudi Club for an undisclosed sum, bringing his career at Highbury to an end.

The Liberian international had been loaned out to other clubs, such as Birmingham and Den Bosch, and his future was looking bleak in North London with Arsene Wenger considering the likes of Thierry Henry, Dennis Bergkamp, Kanu and Sylvain Wiltord ahead of him in the pecking order.

Although making 46 appearances in all for The Gunners, the 25-year-old`s most memorable moment was probably when he scored the winner in the 1998 FA Cup semi-final against Wolves.

Wreh picked up both a winners` medal for that competition, and the Premier League, as Arsenal did the double that year, and he also scooped the Charity Shield a few months later.

A new start in Saudi Arabia beckons for the former Monaco and Guincamp man, who cost £300,000 back in 1997.

Meanwhile, Corinthians midfielder Edu finally looks set to seal his protracted move to Highbury, after a passport wrangle delayed his transfer.
