FROGGATT BLASTS SUMMERBEE
The former Aston Villa and Wolves ace has not played since sustaining a serious ankle injury, after being on the receiving end of a challenge from Summerbee in last February's clash at Highfield Road.
The 27-year-old is still far away from making a return to action and he is set to undergo another operation to cure the problem, but if that does not prove successful he could face more time out injured.
The Sky Blues star is angry that he has not received an apology from Summerbee for the challenge, which has ruined his year.
"It was a bad, bad tackle and everyone in the ground could see that at the time," said Froggatt.
"I thought it was shocking and it's something that will have kept me out of action for a year. It is my livelihood we are talking about. There's been no contact between us or even an apology.
"I can't really say any more than that but this could not have been worse for me. The whole year has been an absolute disaster."
Froggatt, who before the injury was on the fringes of the England squad to solve the national side's problem left side, is hopeful of making a full recovery.
"I've got to have another operation," said Froggatt. "If I go into hospital and everything is straightforward then I can get on with getting fit again.
"But if they find something else in there, then I don't know when I will be back.
"It's been frustrating. I'd like to think I'd still have been in contention for an England place," added Froggatt.
