AL-JABER GIVEN UAE LOAN

SAMI AL-JABER has been loaned to United Arab Emirates side Al-Ain a week after a Saudi Prince criticised the club for the lack of opportunities the player has had at the club.

However, the Midlands club allowed the move for compassionate reasons after news broke that his father was seriously ill.

Al-Jaber received his work permit in mid-September and joined Wolves on a five month loan for Al Hilal, but after five games he is yet to score for the side.

Prince Khalid of Saudi Arabia had complained Al-Jaber's treatment and hinted that this could affect sporting relationships between the two countries.

At the time Prince Khalid said: "If he'd gone to the Premier League I'd have said nothing.

"But Wolves are only a First Division side, they're not doing very well, they play midfielders in attack, and leave Sami on the bench.

"All we ask is that he be given a chance. And, if they don't want him, let him come home.

"Sami was the first player from our country to be allowed to move abroad, he is our best player, and I put my head on the line to persuade people here to let him go, as we felt it would be for Sami and his country's benefit."

This latest news could see the end of the 28-year-old's spell in England and with it the chance to nurture a new footballing goldmine.
