DJALMINHA HITS OUT AT LACK OF PROTECTION

DEPORTIVO'S controversial Brazilian, Djalminha has been in the news again after last weekend's top-of-the-table clash against Valencia saw him continue a running battle with Albelda, followed up by a clash with team-mate Victor.

Djalminha was angry that players were not getting booked for kicking him, and the silky-skilled star complained that he is being left unprotected by Spanish referees.

In fact, he has been booked three times and received one red card this season, all for dissent after being kicked by the opposition.

During Saturday's game, Djalminha lashed out at Albelda, but it went unseen by the referee.

However, once the game had finished, both players could be seen physically pushing each other and had to be separated by their team-mates.

Djalminha is reported to have continued his argument against the Valencia players, and on the way in to the dressing room, he even tried to punch Victor.

Deportivo have not commented about the incident, preferring to deal with it privately.

The Spanish FA are said to be considering taking action against Djalminha after receiving the referee's report detailing the incident.
