SHARPE TAKES POMPEY LOAN
Sharpe, who has been out-of-favour at Valley Parade under Jim Jefferies, will move to Fratton Park for an initial month, with an option to extend the stay if all parties agree.
Claridge appeared delighted at the capture of the 29-year-old, saying: "I'm very pleased to get him and I hope it will work out for all concerned.
"It's good that we've been able to get somebody in when we need them.
"He's got good qualities and it's just about getting his attitude right for first-team football again."
Sharpe appeared excited about the prospect of regular football, commenting: "It's given me an opportunity to play again which is important.
"I've heard a lot of good things about Pompey from people like Darren Moore and Andy Myers, so I'm excited about it.
"If at the end of it Steve Claridge is happy with me and I'm happy then we'll take if from there."
