HAMMERS TO FAIL WITH D`ALESSANDRO BID

WEST HAM`S bid to sign River Plate starlet Andres d`Alessandro looks set to end in failure, after the president of the South American club confirmed that the deal had stalled.

The Hammers have already had the youngster at Upton Park on trial, but David Pintado has seemingly ended speculation about a potential move.

"The sale of d`Alessandro to West Ham is stalled, there is nothing new," said Pintado.

By no means is the deal off, but it would now seem that the London club could be drawn into an auction with a number of other teams from around Europe who are also keen on the young Argentine.

Meanwhile, West Ham also been linked to Wolfsburg midfielder Dorinel Munteanu.

The 32-year-old is captain of Romania, but is said to be unhappy with the Bundesliga side as he is on the bench, but Wolfsburg have stressed that the player is not available for transfer.
