DE HAAN RULED OUT OF DUTCH DEBUT
The 28-year-old sweeper looked all set to get his first cap against Turkey on Wednesday, but he has not told coach Louis van Gaal (pictured) that he will not be able to play.
"I'm really proud, but Van Gaal only wants players who are 100 percent fit," said a disappointed de Haan. "I got a knee in my behind last Sunday and I have not been able to stand normally for the last two days."
De Haan has seen his career rise to amazing heights in the last four years, after only starting his professional career with Excelsior in 1996.
Meanwhile, Vitesse Arnhem's Marc van Hintum will be given the left back spot by van Gaal.
Injuries to PSV's Kevin Hofland, Celtic's Bobby Petta, Arthur Numan of Rangers has opened up the way for van Hintum who will gain his second cap for his country.
