SCHNEIDER TO STAY WITH STUTTGART
The former German Under-21 international agreed on a three-year deal that will be valid even if Stuttgart drop to the second division.
Schneider's decision to stay in Stuttgart is a surprise as the defender was linked with several of the Bundesliga's top-flight sides.
Schalke were even rumored to be close to signing him as a free transfer for next season.
The 26-year-old defender decided to stay with the club he has played for since his childhood days.
He is aware that his club could go down after this season but he said his manager Rolf Russmann convinced him to stay in Stuttgart.
"Mr Rüssmann made clear to me that Stuttgart has good prospects for the future so I decided to stay," Scheider said.
